Hires Director of Technology and Business
Development for its Primary Metals, Energy and
Mining Division

  • Industry Veteran Joseph Hamnik Joins the World’s Leading Manufacturer of Dust Control and Soil Stabilization Products Scottsdale, Ariz. June 22, 2021 Soilworks, the world’s leading manufacturer of dust control and soil stabilization products, has hired Joseph Hamnik as Director of Technology and Business Development for Primary Metals, Energy and Mining. Hamnik will be responsible for growing the company’s sales to its existing customers while also developing new revenue streams in rapidly emerging areas of dust prevention and stabilization within the primary metals and power industries. “Joseph brings with him an extensive track record of success in areas that are important and vital to our continued growth,” said Soilworks CEO and Founder Chad Falkenberg. “We’re looking forward to even greater business growth as we move forward.” Already a dominant force in dust control for the military, mining and construction industries, Hamnik will help the company as it expands its presence in primary metals, energy and mining. “Soilworks offers products that make business sense from an environmental and financial standpoint for companies that need to address dust compliance,” Hamnik said. “Having this breadth of quality products and technical expertise available to customers makes the job of expanding Soilworks’ footprint in the mining, metals and energy industries that much easier. I’m looking forward to increasing our market share.” With more than three decades of experience, Hamnik served in technology and business development roles for Krofft Chemical Company in the Chicago market, as well as Virginia-based ChemTreat. He also served in multiple business development roles for Nalco Water for more than a decade. Hamnik holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Indiana University and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Chicago. He joins a company that has continually demonstrated a commitment to quality and performance that has led to multiple dust control products including Durasoil®, Soiltac®, Gorilla-Snot® and Surtac®. Along the way, Soilworks has been awarded multiple patents for its cutting-edge dust control technology and unique high-performance soil stabilization solutions. For example, Soilworks has received three patents for Durasoil, which is engineered for the most challenging intense-use dust control needs. The ultra-pure synthetic fluid is formulated with non-petroleum Gas-to-Liquid (GTL) technology, made from clean, plentiful natural gas. Durasoil is distinctively crystal clear, odorless and formulated to meet the highest standards of environmental efficacy. Similar to water that never evaporates or freezes, its unique ability to be continuously reworked and self-heal has dramatically elevated industry expectations of performance and longevity in the field. In 2020, Soilworks received Kosher certification for Durasoil, which is now used broadly in agricultural applications, given its unique composition and relative safety for food uses such as rice and grain storage as well as milling.
