What’s going on at Soilworks
Dust control solutions for Arctic regions require a unique formulation. Water-based products simply aren’t effective in controlling dust because the solutions freeze and destabilize.
To address dust conditions in Arctic regions, Soilworks created a unique, state-of-the art synthetic dust control fluid that uses gas-to-liquid (GTL) technology and can withstand freezing conditions approaching -40 C/F for long periods of time.
How Does Durasoil “Never Freeze” Work?
Durasoil is designed to control dust on a variety of worksites in the Arctic by “wetting out” soil without freezing. When Durasoil is applied to a surface, it works at the micron level to coat and agglomerate soil and, due to its unique GTL formula, will not freeze like water-based products.
Once applied, Durasoil forms an agglomerated coating on the treated surface and provides long-lasting performance in cold temperatures without reapplication. With its self-healing and re-workable properties, the treated areas can withstand heavy loads and frequent vehicular traffic over long periods of time.
Durasoil Superior to Water-Based Solutions
Water-based products may work temporarily, but as soon as temperatures drop below freezing, the product will destabilize and become ineffective at controlling fugitive dust. Using water-based products in Arctic regions can result in higher costs related to frequent re-application.
Durasoil helps cut costs, create stable road surfaces, is resistant to freezing and keeps operations safe from dust and debris.
Tested to Perform
Durasoil is patented and tested to perform in both the field and the lab. After years of testing and verification, Durasoil has consistently proven to be a safe, non-toxic synthetic fluid capable of reducing airborne and suspended particulate matter for long periods of time.
In Arctic regions, dirt and gravel airfields are often the only means of transportation. Dust complications due to frequent aircraft traffic can create safety hazards and deteriorate runways. Durasoil can help maintain the integrity of runways for long-term use up to 24 months after application.
Durasoil is the premier solution for airfields in the Arctic, including those operated by Alaska’s Department of Transportation, where temperatures can drop below -40 degrees Fahrenheit.
