Soilworks®, the global leader in dust control and soil stabilization products, is seeking a highly motivated Logistics and Fulfillment Manager to lead accurate, timely, and cost-effective order fulfillment. You will manage freight relationships, coordinate shipments with Production, Sales, and customers, oversee the logistics team, and keep orders moving from processing through delivery and invoicing.
Responsibilities
- Order fulfillment and delivery. Oversee sales-order processing, shipment scheduling, and customer invoicing when orders ship. Coordinate expedited and drop-ship orders, resolve fulfillment issues, and keep customers and Sales informed of delivery requirements, progress, and changes.
- Freight strategy and carrier relationships. Obtain freight quotes, negotiate competitive rates, and manage transportation providers. Oversee inbound and outbound freight lanes, scheduling, and delivery performance while balancing customer needs, service reliability, and company profitability.
- Production coordination and pickups. Manage the Production Calendar for inbound and outbound shipments. Confirm readiness, timing, and pickup requirements with Production; provide complete shipment information and resolve discrepancies before they disrupt fulfillment.
- Key accounts and mining support. Serve as the primary fulfillment contact for executive-designated key accounts, including strategic partners and recurring mining customers. Guide accurate quotes and orders, answer order and freight questions, and coordinate high-volume mining shipments. Work with Strategic and Operations Support on accurate mining-dashboard reporting and productivity improvements.
- Freight billing and credit coordination. Reconcile and enter freight and logistics invoices into QuickBooks for timely, accurate payment.
- Team leadership and coverage. Oversee logistics and sales-operations support. Manage, train, and delegate to the Sales & Logistics Coordinator, serve as the primary backup, and develop repeatable processes that support effective handoffs and future delegation.
- Systems and continuous improvement. Oversee the transportation management system and work with the Salesforce administrator to meet company benchmarks. Maintain accurate order and shipment records, use approved AI workflows to improve execution, and work with leadership and Production to resolve process issues and improve efficiency.
Skills Required
- Relevant experience. Two to five years of experience running a logistics or shipping department, supporting a sales organization, and managing or coordinating customer accounts.
- Transportation knowledge. Knowledge of full truckload (FTL), less-than-truckload (LTL), ocean, air, rail, and bulk transportation, including international shipments.
- Leadership and customer service. Strong negotiation, communication, delegation, multitasking, and problem-solving skills, with dependable follow-through across customers, carriers, and internal teams.
- Accuracy and analysis. Strong mathematical, analytical, and detail skills; ability to verify freight calculations, order details, and invoices.
- Digital proficiency. Expert proficiency with Salesforce, QuickBooks, Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft 365. Practical AI proficiency at hire and the ability to oversee a transportation management system.
Artificial Intelligence Proficiency Required
Demonstrated generative AI proficiency is required at hire, not merely interest or willingness to learn. Apply AI securely to real logistics and fulfillment work and continue developing your capabilities. Software development expertise is not required.
- Apply AI to fulfillment. Use approved tools to organize order requirements, compare freight information, prepare customer updates, identify discrepancies, and analyze authorized shipment data.
- Build repeatable workflows. Provide clear instructions and context, refine outputs, and create reusable approaches for freight-quote comparisons, order reviews, status reporting, and Salesforce updates. Explain the workflow, its limitations, and its benefit.
- Verify before use. Identify missing inputs rather than inventing them. Independently check rates, charges, quantities, calculations, shipment details, and proposed delivery commitments against approved records and tools. AI output is not an authoritative source.
- Protect information and exercise judgment. Use only approved tools and authorized data. Safeguard customer, carrier, pricing, payment, and proprietary information; follow company security, privacy, and acceptable-use requirements.
- Keep learning and improving. Evaluate new capabilities, adapt workflows, and share effective practices. Demonstrate improvements in time saved, accuracy, responsiveness, or fulfillment capacity.
AI supports execution; it does not replace operational judgment, coordination, or accountability.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Frequent computer use and communication with customers, carriers, Sales, Accounting, and Production. Manage a fast-paced environment with changing shipment priorities and multiple deadlines with accuracy and professionalism.
Educational Requirements
- High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
