A comprehensive dust abatement field program conducted in Douglas, AZ assessed the real-world performance of numerous dust suppressants on silty gravel roads subjected to military traffic. Among the evaluated materials, Soiltac, a synthetic copolymer emulsion manufactured by Soilworks, ranked among the top-performing solutions for sustained dust control. Applied at 0.8 gallons per square yard in both topical and admixed treatments, Soiltac demonstrated excellent suppression of PM10 and PM2.5 emissions over 60 days, based on both visual observations and instrument-based measurements by the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) and Midwest Research Institute (MRI). Its performance exceeded many alternatives in terms of dust reduction, durability, and ease of application.
For military and industrial operations requiring consistent, long-term dust suppression across unpaved infrastructure, Soiltac provides reliable soil cohesion, erosion control, and reduced airborne dust even under vehicle load stress. The product integrates easily with rotary tillers for full-depth stabilization and supports surface sealing through final spray passes. For site engineers seeking scalable and environmentally conscious options, Soilworks offers application planning and product support tailored to logistics corridors, access roads, and remote-area infrastructure.
