During the PG&E Hunters Point Power Plant Cleanup, Soiltac was applied as a critical dust control and soil stabilization measure to mitigate airborne asbestos exposure. The site, undergoing concrete demolition, excavation, and backfilling, required enhanced dust suppression strategies when air monitoring detected asbestos levels above the trigger threshold. Soiltac was reapplied multiple times, reinforcing its effectiveness in binding soil particles and reducing hazardous airborne contaminants.

Hunters Point Power Plant Cleanup ‐ Air Monitoring Results
Following is an overview of the air monitoring results for airborne naturally occurring asbestos that PG&E collected at the former Hunters Point Power Plant site from July 5 to July 15, 2011, on days that work was being conducted. For this period, there were three days with readings above the Trigger Level, a conservative threshold at which additional dust controls will be implemented. A summary of the readings is below.
