Florence County proposes to rehab 0.2 miles of Trail 6 south of the Pine River Bridge off of County Hwy N, to widen the trail and correct an erosion problem. Erosion problems have resulted in significant sediment deposit into the nearby Pine River. This trail is a year-round ATV trail as well as a snowmobile trail, and a fatality occurred in 2016 when a snowmobiler collided with a groomer in this narrow section. The county is requesting a 50/25/25 split between RTP/ATV/Snow programs.

Taylor County proposes to rehab 2.05 miles of trail 326 on USFS property, which includes replacing a failed culvert with a clear span bridge (McKenzie Creek South). The culvert has been damned by beavers and washed out regularly in the past. The USFS is contributing labor, equipment and materials for the project including equipment and labor for installation of the bridge. Some rehab work has already been done by the USFS on this segment to widen and level the trail. The county is requesting funds to continue the trail rehab work including 2″ stone and 3″ dense base surfacing. This trail rehab will make it possible to deliver the bridge and improve sustainability of the trail. County is also requesting a 50% cost share from RTP.
