As part of Maui’s wildfire recovery efforts, Soiltac has been applied to fire-ravaged areas in Lāhainā to stabilize toxic ash and debris, preventing airborne contamination and runoff into offshore waters. This EPA-reviewed, non-toxic soil stabilizer forms a protective crust, reducing exposure to hazardous materials such as asbestos, lead, and microplastics while enabling safer re-entry for residents and recovery crews. Maui County has lifted access restrictions for burn zones 13A, 13B, and 13C, allowing residents with vehicle passes to return to their properties. These zones include Shaw Street, Kauaula Road, Ilikahi Street, Wainee Street, and Kamano Place. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will remove Soiltac along with debris during Phase 2 cleanup.

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Maui County announced Thursday three more disaster area restrictions will be lifted for owners and residents with vehicle passes starting this week.
On Monday, Oct. 23 and Tuesday, Oct. 24, the restrictions will be lifted from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. for Zone 13A, 13B and 13C.
Those zones consist of the following streets:

Lahaina burn zones 13A, 13B and 13C (Maui County)
The county said 12 homes that were previously in Zone 12B have been rezoned to Zones 13A and 13B. Residents are advised to refer to the Zone map to check if their property’s zone has changed.
Officials say visiting hours are 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
